In Bhadohi, a woman has lodged a complaint against a man for allegedly forcing her to convert her religion and for sexual exploitation. This information was confirmed by the police.
According to Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik, a 35-year-old Muslim woman filed the FIR against Nitish Chaubey, a resident of Jairampur in the Aurai police station area, on Thursday under relevant sections of the BNS.
The woman, who is married to Gaus Ali from Madhosingh, had traveled from Mumbai due to a dispute with her husband. During her visit, she met Nitish Chaubey from Siyur village.
She claims that under the pretense of offering assistance, Nitish Chaubey forcibly removed her veil, took her to various religious sites, and coerced her into converting her religion. Additionally, she alleged that between August 26, 2024, and April 27, 2025, Nitish Chaubey sexually assaulted her and conspired with her legal adversary to extort 1.5 million rupees. Abhimanyu Manglik stated that a thorough investigation is underway regarding all aspects of this case.
